The 1MB image ceiling
A huge number of upload forms — support tickets, contact forms, older CMSes, insurance claims — cap attached images at 1MB, a legacy default that never went away. The good news: 1MB is a luxurious budget, and virtually any photo fits at quality you can't tell from the original.
It's also the right ceiling if you're putting images on your own website: sub-1MB images keep pages fast on mobile, which visitors (and search engines) reward. Batch-compress a folder in one go and grab the ZIP; everything runs on your device.
How to use it
- Add one or more photos — the 1MB target is preset (adjust it if your form says otherwise).
- Click Compress to 1 MB.
- Download each image, or all of them as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
Will I see any quality difference at 1MB?
Almost never — 1MB holds even large photos at high quality, and the tool spends the whole budget on the best quality that fits.
Can I compress a whole folder at once?
Yes — add them all, compress in one click, and download as a single ZIP. No daily limits.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser — your ID photo never touches a server.
