About DontUpload

DontUpload started with a simple frustration: why does merging two PDFs require uploading your documents to a stranger's server, creating an account, or hitting a "2 free tasks per day" wall?

The idea

Modern browsers are powerful enough to do real file processing — merging PDFs, compressing photos, converting formats — without any server involved. Every tool on this site runs entirely on your device. We never see your files, because they're never sent to us. There's nothing to leak, nothing to log, nothing to subpoena.

The promise

Don't trust us — verify it

"Your files never leave your device" is a claim any website can type. Ours is built so you can check it yourself in under a minute:

  1. Open any tool page and let it finish loading.
  2. Turn off Wi-Fi (or unplug the network — actually disconnect).
  3. Use the tool: merge the PDFs, compress the photo, convert the file. It still works, because there was never a server doing the work.
  4. Save your result, then reconnect.

Want harder evidence? Open your browser's developer tools (F12 → Network tab) and watch while you use a tool: you'll see the page and its open-source libraries load once — and then nothing. There is no upload request to find, because none exists.

One honest note: for truly sensitive documents — passports, medical records, tax filings — you should hold every website to this standard, including this one. Do the offline test first; it's exactly what we'd do on someone else's site. For everyday files, architecture that can't see your documents beats any privacy policy that promises not to look.

How it stays alive

This site is built and maintained by one person, and hosting is cheap precisely because your files never touch a server. If a tool saved you time today, the best way to say thanks is a coffee:
